LFT ALT high Bile stable.

Hi, Was wondering if anyone had been in this situation as I am feeling confused. I am 36+2 and had 2 blood tests when my ALT is high, 1st 135 now 250 but my bile both times have been 13 and now 14. They won’t diagnose me with intrahepatic cholestasis as the normal range has gone up from 10-19. Anyone had high ALT but not bile?

Bile acids can rise and fall quickly so I would definitely keep asking for a weekly blood test in case they do shoot up. Also do not fast before the blood test. Are you itchy at all? How did you come to find out about your raised liver functions?

Thank you, yes really itchy that was the reason for the first test. The itching had got a lot worse this week so I was certain the bile would have raised also!

It may have been they were raised but dropped again when they tested. Ask for regular tests just in case ❤️ cold baths and showers were the best thing for my itch, loose clothes and 2% menthol aqueous cream helped a little x

My bile acids also went up and down when I had OC. I hardly had any symptoms (luckily). I did end up with higher bile acids in the moderate range later on though. I actually asked to have bloods twice a week 😬 Maybe try see if they will do that just to check if maybe the levels are jumping up and down?

@Paige thank you! I have the cream and it does really help my feet with a fan!
