Minimal colostrum

I attempted to start harvesting colostrum last week. I’ve had 5 attempts now and got no more than 0.2ml each time. Has anybody got any tips on how I could potentially increase it at all? I’m aware it’s not necessary and it won’t affect supply after birth etc but with my first I ended up formula feeding as he didn’t latch right away and I didn’t know what I was doing, so I wanted a little bit as a back up should we be in that situation again.

Honestly I didn’t get a drop before I gave birth. I tried but failed. The advice people gave me was to relax, massage your boobs for a little while beforehand, warm them from shower/bath. Do it while you are laying in bed watching tv. As much as I loved the advice unfortunately I just couldn’t get any. Didn’t have any problems once my LB arrived and am 6 nearly 7months in to breastfeeding x

That’s good! Best is to harvest after a warm shower. Don’t stress about it, you have a good supply coming. Not everyone gets anything before birth and the amount varies. Typically, more will come as you get closer to your due date but even if it doesn’t, don’t stress about it. I started harvesting at 38 weeks and it would take me 30mins to even get .2ml
