My girl will be starting the week after she turns 2. Her birthday is the 10th of September. I had a similar chat with our childcare provider. They'd put the code though on the wrong one as they weren't familiar with the new child care. It's been a nightmare to get sorted.
Any child who is 9month or older in september is eligible. My boy isn't 2 until October but he's getting the free hours from september x
I'm sure I was told that its upto the specific nursery/ childcare when the implement the free hours x
Tbh the day care manager I spoke to seemed clueless and was surprised I had the code since May. It's making me anxious because I was anticipating upping my hours at work in September but if she can't go in September, it throws a wrench into things. I can't afford to pay for it between then and January. When I originally went to this nursery, the lady who did our look around said I'd definitely be able to start September, but the manager I spoke to yesterday was bumbling around and said they'd have to call the local council to find out. It really is a nightmare
My daughter is 2 on the 13th September and I was told we have to wait till next September (2025). So if anyone has any other info on this it would be appreciated and how to go about getting her in this year xx
Just rang the day care and they were mistaken and said they're still getting used to the changes, she will be starting this September thank goodness.
My daughter gets 15 free hours from September (wont be 2) - as long as they’re 9 months old they should be able to get it (if you’re eligible)
@Sharna that’s definitely wrong hun
My son is 2 on the 7th and his free hours will be starting first week of September x
My little boy turns 2 on the 15th sept & he will be starting his 15 hours free childcare a week before he turns two, like most said any 9month + are eligible from September x
Also just to add, I've already applied for the 15 hours and I am entitled to it and have had the childcare code since May
