Just a question for mamas in the UK:

Currently having my 1st baby due in November and need to stock up on nappies. What are thoughts on the “Pampers” brand. And how many boxes of size 1 nappies would you recommend I need for the first couple weeks/months? 💗💗

Honestly, I wouldn’t stock up on any one brand in particular, as baby may not get on with them. I’d get one pack of 3-5 different brands, try them and see what you like :) Pampers are good for us, but I know others have found their baby reacts to them 🤷‍♀️ we still use them for nighttime or long journeys, but up til size 3 we found Aldi to be best. Now we use Tesco. Definitely be open to trying as you may find the cheaper brands actually work best for you and baby, as pampers are insanely expensive especially at the start when they go through so many nappies!

You'll likely not need size 1 for too long so don't buy too many.

Can I ask why people stock up on nappies?? Genuinely curious as I just thought I would buy as I go 😂😅

Pampers size 1-3 are not great. They often get stuck to baby’s bum and make them sore. We had 4 packs of each size 1-4 mainly in Aldi own brand but a few others we were gifted and only had to start buying nappies once lo turned 6 months old x

@Jessica maybe to spread out cost a little. Buy a few packs but we stayed in size 1 for too long and had a few leaks.

I love ALDIs brand

@Jessica maybe worried it’s hard to get out of the house with newborn. It can be at first. But yes I do as I go too

My little girl was 6lbs 12oz born and stayed in size 1 for ages. I personally did not like pampers as I found they made my girl stink of wee. I like using either Aldi or Tesco Flo & fred x
