I don’t know when to test

I had light bleeding/spotting a week before my period is due and now I’m due for my period today. I don’t know if it was implantation. Bc I ready that with that you have to test 6 days after the bleeding. Should I wait the 6 days or am I put this month. I tested this morning it was negative but the bleeding stopped 1 day ago. Lasted 2 days.
