Rhesus negative?

Hello, I’m 10+4 and have recently found out I have A- blood type meaning I have to have special injections to ensure the baby is safe. Anyone else have experience with this?

I’m rhesus neg and both my boys are +, I have had anti d injections in both of my pregnancies ☺️ It’s really common, the injections will keep baby safe and reduce the chance of any complications for possible future pregnancies. Make sure to get them when you should! There’s 2 routine ones (around 28w and after labour) as well as in possible sensitisation events (bleeding in pregnancy, falls or injury’s to bump etc)

Same here, this is my 2nd baby and it's not a big worry. Just be extra careful of bumps and falls, and make sure you get the injection at 28 weeks (stings a little bit but it's fine).

I’m rhesus negative too I didn’t have to have the injections as they also tested baby and she was also negative so was fine with my first not sure about this time around tho x

You might have a blood test around 16 weeks which can determine the blood group of your baby. If it’s also negative then you don’t need anti-D! I don’t know if all trusts offer this but mine did and it was great to know. I’ll be tested again at 16 weeks this time to find out if I need it or not x

I had the anti d injection too, it’s absolutely fine & as people have said quite common. Hope it goes well for you
