Yes, so your 40 weeks pregnant actually starts from the first day of your last period. So although you might have only ovulated a couple of weeks ago, it counts back before that
Look up midwives in your local area on Google to see if you can self refer. In my area you fill in a form online and the GP has nothing to do with it.
@Charley my GP. Practice sent me the form and my midwife was at the practice
I think the GP thing varies. I called mine to say I was pregnant and they said so what😂😂. They then asked me to do as @Charley said and just pick a hospital I wanted and contact them.

@Sarah yes it's different for every area, that's why I said what happens in my local area where the GP doesn't want to know you when you're pregnant and the midwives are completely separate.

Contact your GP, they will set you up with a midwife appointment, probably on a few weeks x
