So you'll be about 8 weeks? That's probably okay. Particularly for a second pregnancy. Were you low iron in your first pregnancy? You can probably suss for yourself what supplement you should start on eg folate, iodine, fish oil, maybe iron.
Where in the world are you, I'm guessing US? In the UK, a positive pregnancy test is enough there is no need to do blood Tests unless there is a concern and you won't be seen by a midwife till about 8ish weeks and a scan booked in for around 12 weeks.
@Ella yes, I was anemic and had to get iron infusions. I’m a vegetarian so I already take iron supplements
@Reena yes, I’m located in the US
In the uk we don't. Doctors just rely on pregnancy tests now and the first scan xxx
You can request a pregnancy test by your doctor to confirm although it isn’t standard procedure to be offered one I went for an early private scan with both of mine just to reassure my self
Been there for my current, first pregnancy. In India we get blood tests done asap after we get a positive on the kit. But this practice didn't harm me in any way. But I felt unimportant
I wasn’t seen until 9 weeks in both my pregnancies
I was seen at 7 weeks for a confirmation appointment. They just used their own pregnancy test, no bloodwork.
Depending on what state you're in you can order your own blood test without a doctor. Sonora Quest and I think LabCorp let you order your own tests. Also if you're super worried you can always say you have cramping on one side and that you're worried for an ectopic pregnancy and they will likely see you sooner. But yeah honestly there isn't much they can do until 6 or 8 weeks because before then a heartbeat can't even be detected to make sure the pregnancy is viable.
With my last two I called when I had a positive test and they just scheduled my appointment for when I was about 8 or 9 weeks. I didn't do a blood test. They did a transvaginal ultrasound at my first appointment
I never told my doctors how many test I took cuase I was afraid they would say they wouldn't do the test them self and I rather them do such to be 100% sure
Depends where you’re from? In the uk you’re seen for your midwife booking appointment at around 8 weeks and don’t get any blood work etc,the first concrete proof you get from a professional is your 12 week scan! (Unless you pay for an earlier private scan)
When I found out I was pregnant the OB office needed proof of pregnancy, they made me go to a pregnancy center where all they did was use the exact same kind of pregnancy test you buy at the store. That was proof enough because the chances of a false positive is so low. If you had six positive tests I can't imagine they're false. I wouldn't worry too much especially since worrying isn't good for you or baby.

I also had a positive test on August 16 and I wasn’t able to get an appointment until October 7😩
I called as soon as I got a positive on August 19 and the absolute soonest they scheduled me was sept 18 so it’s roughly the same. This is typical now, they don’t see anyone before 8-12 weeks where I am.
Both my pregnancies were like this too where I called my doctor about a positive test and he sent a referral to the OBGYN and that was that until my appointment weeks later. Had me paranoid that it'd be a false positive and I'd been there for nothing both times
