Letrozole worked for me. Doctor also told me letrozole works better with pcos
@Kacie Thank you! Any side effects with Letrozole?
@Alyssa Thank you :) Did you have any side effects?
Migraines! I've taken it for 3 cycles now and noticed if I take it at night I do not have any migraines!
No side effects but I took at 10pm every night as people say that helps xx
Letrozole is better for PCOS. Worked for me at a high dose.
I just got letrozole myself and have pcos - will be starting soon my OB said had better effects and outcomes than clomid
Letrozole worked for me on the second month at a low dose. I didn't have any side effects from it besides two eggs released(I'm pregnant with twins! )
I just took Letrozole for the first time this past cycle and went to get bloodwork done to confirm ovulation and I found out that I ovulated on Letrozole! My doctor recommended Letrozole because research says that it’s best for people with PCOS as it has higher success rates for successful ovulation in people with PCOS and higher live birth rates. Wishing you luck and baby dust!
I also took Letrozole at night with dinner and didn’t experience any negative side effects of the drug.
@Jenna lol I’m so afraid of this happening it’s a blessing but lord idk if I’m ready for twins haha and I’m so short and small my body is gonna go through it 😂 congratulations though!! I’m feeling good about letrozole too!
@Jessica it probably won't happen to you, letrozole is less likely to give you twins than clomid which is a bonus. I definitely was not planning on twins! I'm excited but it's been a rough pregnancy and I'm also pretty small and short. I am giant and still have 10 weeks 🤣
@Jenna what dose did you take? :)
@Jenna it’s like that tiny sliver of hey here’s two! 😂sending love your way!

@Lauren what dose were you on? :)
I was on 2.5mg I believe. Whatever the lowest dose is. Worked very well for me
2.5 mg!
my doctors have told me I have pcos and ive had a scan but I haven't been put on any medication, doctors haven't really given me much advice
@Jas advocate for yourself and find new doctors that’s what I had to do! Found a new gyno and a new primary
I’ve done both. Started with clomid and the only reason I’m no longer on it is because I saw a nom in the corner of my eye BRIEFLY & told the doctor about it so now they’ve put down I’m allergic. Currently using letrozole 5mg, 2.5 is too low for me & 7.5 caused me to have too many follicles which led to canceled treatment.
In the UK, does one need to have tried conceiving for more than a year to be put on Letrozole?
Personally for me Letrzole
I would assume so as it would need a specialist to prescribe x
They usually say you have to have been trying naturally for a year and then your gp may run initial tests I.e bloodwork or an ovary ultrasound . Then they’d likely refer you to the fertility clinic. Then once the referral has come through you will do more tests and if confirmed pcos likely they will put you on clomid first ( I wasn’t offered letrezole on nhs). I then had ovulation induction injections after six rounds of clomid
My gyno just put me on letrozole, she said it was better for people with pcos and had better results and less side effects than clomid. If you’re not happy with your gyno def ask friends or family for referrals. My first one didn’t wanna do anything for me until a year. When I had already been off of birth control for 3 years not that we were trying but we weren’t preventing either but she wouldn’t even give me bloodwork even though she knew about my PCOS and already had an underlying issue. I found a new gyno and she’s been so great very proactive!
@Jessica all through the NHS or privately?
Yeah through my insurance - I just called an ask if they took my insurance. It’s still been a bit expensive and annoying for the extra bloodwork test and appointments but grateful none the less I found a good dr that heard and seen me and what I was asking for.
I have only ever used letrozole so can’t comment on clomid but I chose letrozole as heard it’s better for pcos, worked for me, ovulated every cycle on it and fell on cycle 3 xx
