Tongue Tie Release & IBCLC recommendation

Cannot recommend Russell Medical more highly. Most don’t release lip ties. Both of my children had tongue and lip ties and only tongue ties were released. If you have any specific questions happy to answer!

Thanks so much for responding. Do you by any chance know what is the reason of not doing the lip tie? Have you noticed an improvement with feeding afterwards?

Second Russell Medical, they were amazing with my son, was over so quickly. We didn't do their stretches, because our IBCLC gave us other ones, but they were great otherwise.

@Tijana the lip tie hasn’t had any impact for either of my children (that we are aware of as yet, eldest is 3 years and a newborn). With my eldest we had a late diagnosis, after jumping through many hurdles and seeing many specialists. It was 6 weeks. He latched immediately after without a nipple shield. But took 3 months to become a champion feeder. And still feeding now! He had to unlearn the bad technique he had learnt to compensate for his restriction. My newborn was released at birth and the experience was much more positive! My supply is also significantly better as my newborn was able to activate more milk ducts by successfully breastfeeding during the first few days.

@Thalia from memory it was $380. There’s a rebate available from Medicare.

@Tijana we saw Sam Foster who is a highly recommended IBCLC and performs scissor releases also.
