@Elizabeth thanks. How many weeks is you LO now? When do you tend to offer formula? How do I find out if my supply has increased?
I’ve been combi feeding since day 3. I’ve been exclusively pumping which has helped me grow a freezer stash of breast milk. I used to pump enough to cover 8 bottles for a 24 hour period then anything left over went into the freezer. After about 3/4 weeks my pumping schedule became difficult because my LG wanted lots of attention (I’m a single mum) so I introduced formula. I now give her 1 bottle of formula a day (just before bed) and she has breast milk other times. She is now 2 months old. If I haven’t pumped enough then I’ll use my freezer stash or give her formula. I name my feeds so I roughly know when she’s due them. There’s breakfast (7-8am) brunch (10-11am) lunch (1-2pm) afternoon tea (4-5pm) bedtime (7-8pm) midnight snack (12-3am) her feeding schedule differs slightly because I demand feed so sometimes in the night she goes 5 hours straight and at the moment she’s been having an extra bottle in the 24 hour period because she’s been demanding every 2 hours
My LO is 9 weeks old. Usually start of offer the first formula of the day at 10 or 11 am, but I have offered earlier if they're particularly fussy and seem very hungry of I've BF, and they just don't seem settled. Literally put the knuckle of one finger in her mouth to see how much she sucks on it x
We've been combi feeding since our wee one was born as I've had supply issues. It was honestly super inconsistent until about last week - week 8 - when my supply seemed to increase unexpectedly. Regarding formula, she has 3-4 formula feeds a day ranging from 80 - 120ml each. Usually 3-4 hours apart with first formula feed of the day between 1000 and 1100. Feed on demand otherwise, but supply is always lower in the evenings x
