Replace after collision

Unfortunately this morning my partner was coming home from work and his brakes failed coming onto a roundabout causing him to go into the back of another car, wondering if car seat would need to be replaced? i’ve heard after very minor collisions they ought to be so likely will replace it but just wondering on opinions.
