Folic acid

Heyyy, just a question. There’s been days where I’ve forgotten to take the folic acid supplement is this bad?

Oh I’m really honest with my first pregnancy I didn’t take it at all I had sickness till 20 weeks so everything to took it it was coming straight up I never took it it and my baby is healthy and fine xx

Folic acid 400 micro grams is very important especially in first trimester for formation of the spinal cord and preventing neural tube defects. We are all human so I wouldn’t make yourself feel bad about forgetting a couple of days. Just try to put it somewhere you’re likely to see it such as your bedside table or by your toothbrush so you’re reminded to take it.

I keep forgetting too I feel guilty 😭

You can get folic acid from food. Cereals leafy greens fruit veg etc. missing one tablet won’t hurt. Ive only just started taking mine. Best thing current research wise is to take it. Lots of countries still don’t advise it routinely. It’s not bad if you don’t take it. It’s just advised that you do. :)
