Sacramento PSA! But in general PSA!

Hey everyone, so I went thrifting at a few thrift stores today and I was going through the clothes putting them away etc. Inside one of the shirts I got (luckily it was an adult shirt and not one for my son but still scary, and not really any better) I found sew inside a AirTag. I didn’t think anything of it when I got the notification on my phone because I have an AirTag in my wallet so I thought it was that. I’m pretty sure the store it came from was ECOThrift. So I wanted to let everyone know on here, please check your clothes! 🩷🩵 btw I just got back home from turning the AirTag over to the police. I’ll follow up if they have any updates but yeah just wanted to let you guys know. Please be careful and if there’s a patch in the shirt just take the extra time to feel around the shirt before purchasing.

These AirTags are getting scary. People have been finding them on their cars, unattended strollers at parks, etc. This world is definitely not what it used to be and I think technology is killing it fast.

@Sami I agree! Unfortunately I live in Sacramento and the kidnapping/sex trafficking rate is VERY high here. But today I went to the thrift stores I went to and let them know what I found just to warn them as well as I took the AirTag to the police last night when I found it. It’s scary that it was in a woman’s clothing, but also I’m relieved it wasn’t in a child’s clothes. But still it’s just as bad. Yk

I can see this being a safety thing on an elderly persons clothing or someone with dementia.

@Sami at least Apple notifies you. Makes you wonder how many trackers aren’t synced like that.

@Kaylyn no not really after they tracked the ID for it I haven’t heard back. Just that they did find something and they were looking into it.
