Hey Mums! I am in Calgary area and I am wondering at how many weeks should I ask my GP for a referral to obgyn and how long does this usually take. I am currently 15 weeks.

Have you explored applying for a midwife? I am in the Edmonton area and have had my midwife since the start of my pregnancy. And a midwife will stick with you through the entire pregnancy and help deliver if you are low risk. They also can deliver in hospital based on where they have authorization. I'm doing hospital with my midwife.
You can go on the waitlist and put in your info. Then select a few different locations on where you may prefer to go based on your location.

Otherwise, I think an OB might start following you going into your third trimester. So perhaps talk to your GP and ask them how soon they refer.
