Feeling guilty

I’m 29 weeks, and I feel self conscious some days because I feel like I’m not eating enough food and that I’m starving my baby. I wake up around 5am because that’s when my man goes to work, then I’ll have a healthy snack at around 7 am, and then fall asleep until around 11am, and have like fruit or something before I shower and stuff and then that’s when I eat a meal. I don’t eat like this everyday some mornings I do discipline myself to get out of bed (exhaustion) and make a proper breakfast, but if I make it too big of a portion I’ll be not hungry until like 4pm, but I try to have a snack in between if that’s the case. Sometimes I eat too big of a portion to try to compensate for not eating a proper full breakfast. Since I start eating late I find myself getting hungry late and eating something late. I have my days where I eat 3 meals no issues that’s a few times a week, I don’t have that issue on the weekend at least. Baby is measuring healthy and a few days ahead but I still feel bad on those days where I fall asleep after not eating a full breakfast and I’m afraid I’m not eating enough for both of us cuz I wake up and it’s basically lunch time and then I feel especially bad when I see those “what I eat in a day” vids on social media and the mamas on there are eating so much food

You’re not alone, and social media is not a reflection on how well you’re doing for yourself & your baby. The fact that you’re conscientious about it tells me that you’re already such a great mom! Keep taking care of yourself & your baby the best that you can. It’s enough.

Omg thank you for sharing. I feel so similarly some days. Since just entering the third trimester my appetite has tanked and on top of the extra fatigue it’s so hard to eat what feels like “enough.” I love what Kassidi and Sarah said. I have to remind myself constantly that WE are the norm, not what we see on social media. Those “what I eat in a day” videos are probably on the days they’re feeling good and have the energy. I sure don’t have the energy everyday to prepare and clean up after 3 meals lol.

@Sarah I didn’t see it this way, that’s actually pretty encouraging. Thank you for saying this

I have a heavy protein rich breakfast everyday so sometimes when lunch time rolls around, I don’t feel hungry and then I feel bad for skipping a meal. I try to have an afternoon snack before dinner, but as others said, our stomachs just don’t have the same space. I think it’s normal to snack at this stage, if I eat too much, I feel extremely uncomfortable 🥴
