I had to take it again! I passed but barely. Worst case scenario you just have to change your diet a little bit if it's a little high but still passing! I failed my 1 hour, I had to do a 3-hour, and then I had to do one more 3-hour. They didn't tell me whether I passed the first 3 hour or not but I was like two numbers off from almost failing the 3rd test. My doctor suggested a high protein, low carb, low sugar, higher water intake diet. I was already doing that but I have continued with it just to be safe :) good luck!! 💕
I did! The 1hr test is a screening, it's great at catching gd, but it more general so it catches people who also don't have it. That's why they do the more accurate 3hr if you have high numbers for the 1hr. Lots of folks have high numbers for the 1 hr but do fine for the 3hr. If you do get diagnosed, there's a really great support group here on peanut. It's nice to have the support of other moms going through this or who have. Highly recommend. Good luck!
(I had gd with my first. Had high numbers for the 1hr this time around. My 3 hr was great except my fasting was high. That's normally a fail but I felt like it was off so my midwife said I could do the finger prick tests at home for 1-2 weeks to see what things looked like. Based on those they did not go with a gd diagnosis)
In the same boat as you! I found out yesterday I failed my 1 hour and will have to go back for the 3 hour
I had gd in my first pregnancy I just had to watch what I ate and take my blood sugar 4x a day. I didn’t have any symptoms and having it was generally easy to deal with. My doctor didn’t want me to go past 39 weeks and they had to test my son when he was born but everything was fine.
I failed the first test by 2 points and I was so nervous to take the 3 hour. My doula suggested eating only protein and vegetables the few days before the test. Try not to eat any carbs, fruit or anything else with sugar. Walk after meals if you can, especially after dinner. During the test, see if they’ll let you sip water and leave the office to get some fresh air. Both helped me a lot. Also having my partner there the entire time was a huge source of support. Many people fail the first test and pass the second, I did. Wishing you all the strength and luck!!
@Jessica did you have to have a c section or did you have any complications giving birth?
Waiting for my results to come in from yesterday. Definitely nervous. Don’t want to do the 3 hr test lol . I was pre diabetic with both my girls but he has so far haven’t given me any issues . I’m anemic and I’m sure that’s high but crossing fingers you don’t have it after pregnancy
