Confirmation of pregnancy

Once you test positive on a home pregnancy test, does the NHS then do a blood test to confirm it?

They don’t see you until 8-10 weeks for your booking appointment, however if you experience any worrying symptoms and go into a&e for it, they can confirm via a blood test x Congratulations on the pregnancy 💕

No, you should self-refer at around 6 weeks and then your first appointment is usually the booking one at 8-10 weeks. First time round I wasn't sure where to find the referral form for the midwives so I called my GP and they sent me a link

No

I had some bleeding at 6 weeks and they did the hcg blood test 48 hours apart to see if I was misscarrying. Fortunately I wasn’t and it was just the pressure on my cervix from vomiting so frequently. But like above. I think you usually wait until week 8 and you get a booking appointment. They do a urine test then I believe

Home tests are pretty accurate :) call you GP and get your pregnancy registered and go from there. Congratulations 🥳
