Help

Hi all, my little boy is 14 weeks old, something has really changed in him in the last 2 weeks. He is now always crying or whining his a nightmare, getting off to sleep at night. Nothing has changed in his bedtime routine. He has gone from taking 5/6oz milk to 3/4oz formula. He constantly wants to be held. Is this just a faze? Or should I consult a doctor?

Teething?

Regression, teething, developmental leap .. could be all or any ! X

@Kirsty what is actually regression? I keep hearing this, but I am unsure what it actually means.

@Liza I do think he may be teething. I have tried teething gel and giving him calpole, and teething toys, but nothing seems to work.

I think it's the same as a leap tbh x

The 4 month regression is the big one as they change from having 2 phases of sleep to 4 like adults. There are lots of so called regressions but this is the only one where their sleep architecture actually changes. But as above, teething can come into play around now, along with developmental leaps, they’re learning to roll, laugh, babble etc so it can all mess everything up for a little while! They all get over it eventually, some babies quicker than others 😅

Sounds like regression. Basically, because your baby is learning and developing so much, their sleep gets disturbed as does their feeding patterns. My baby is the same age and has started being much more fussy. Try not to worry too much, most phases pass within 2 weeks!
