@Catherine no I'm not! Is it a scan and everything? Just had never been there for a booking appt before
I'm unfortunately not pregnant atm (trying for first) but I had to go there last year for an abdominal and uterine ultrasound, but with your booking appointment (as far as I'm aware) it's to sort out your plan for during your pregnancy and birth with a midwife. They'll take your health history, weight and blood pressure etc. They'll discuss your diet, vitamins and supplements etc. Discuss ultrasounds with you and offer screening tests for baby and you for things like pre-eclampsia and gestational diabetes! If you're an ards gal I am too and always looking for friends, shoot me a wee message sure 🥰
My youngest is 9 months old and at the 12 week / booking appointment has always been in the Ulster (both pregnancies). Then all midwife appointments were at Ards hospital. The first one would have been at 16 weeks. Maybe they have a new set up?
I had my booking appointment/12 week scan at Ards nearly 3 years ago. The only appointment I didn't have there was the 20 week one (big scan). They're lovely there and the homebirth team are amazing
@Lesley I just thought it was random. It's my first appointment.
@Lorie oh thank you! I had all my appointments with my first baby at the ulster. thank goodness they are lovely as i had such a traumatic time I feel like I'll maybe need more support. Wish I could have a home birth but wouldn't dare to risk it.
I wonder if it’s maybe because my first was an emergency c-section? Might be nothing to it?
@Lesley I literally have no idea!! I just assumed it would be in ulster as all my big appointments were there and that's were i delivered.
I have mine in ards ( expect 20 week ) Ards is fantastic and so much quicker than the ulster! The midwives are great
It's just in where the minor injuries used to be. Shouldn't be hard, are you with old mill?
