It’s such a worry! sorry to hear you’re going through a similar situation but i did end up booking a private scan with the nipt testing but while i was at my private scan they couldn’t seem to get a high nuchal fold so I’m hoping it was just mis measurement at the nhs one as mine too was a wriggly baby!! They still went ahead and done my bloods for my own piece of mind but I’m still awaiting my results back for that 🤞🏽🤞🏽 I have read so many positive stories of here so praying it’s the same for me & for you too!! I would say try not to worry too much but oh my it’s so hard not too xxxx
Ive seen online that if the baby’s head is flexed the NT can be more than when relaxed so if the baby was wriggly, it’s not really in a natural position so I can’t be accurate so hopefully it’s just been measured incorrectly. I’ve been scouring the internet which I know I shouldn’t be. Did you get offered an nipt on the nhs? I’ve also read some really positive stories too so fingers crossed for us both 🤞🏼 such a worrying time as it’s the unknown and the wait is terrible. Hopefully we just have a very active baby and the measurement was off. Did they say how long your results would take? Xx
@Jade exactly my position just been for 12 week scan today. High measurement 4mm had bloods waiting for results now then being referred to fetal medicine. X
@Jade sorry for the late reply! I’m not too sure if they offer the nipt test on the nhs, I ended up just going private & my results took 4 days to come back to me through email! whilst I was having the bloods done at a private scan place they also re scanned me and said they didn’t see high nuchal fold so I’m hoping at my nhs scan they just got it wrong plus my baby was also very wriggly on the day. The only thing the nhs did offer me was the amniocentesis test to be done which I’ didn’t go ahead with but I am in for a re scan on the 29th with fetal medicine to see if anything has changed! But so sorry to hear your going through similar, it is such a worrying time! I was non stop searching :((( so i totally understand how u feel. Wishing you all the very best for you & your baby xx
Hiya I’m going through a similar situation. I had my 12 week scan last week, baby was very wriggly. one min facing up and then the next down and I was even sent out for a wee so it took a while for the lady doing the scan to get the measurements. At the end she said everything looked fine but had to tell us that the NT was raised. We were refereed to a midwife who said she doesn’t think it’s too much to worry about but fast tracked my bloods. I’m currently waiting for a call, which she said would be today or tomorrow. She said not to be alarmed if it comes back as high risk as it goes off weight/height ect and I’m 33. If it domes back as high I’ll have another blood test, think it’s the nipt one. I’m booked I for a san with fetal medicine on the 5th November. It’s so nerve wracking and hard not to worry. I’ve seen that high nt can resolve itself or it can even indicate a bigger baby and it doesn’t necessarily mean somethings wrong. Hope everything goes well for you xx
