Go with your gut instinct. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't. X
Define a few most important criteria for yourself, eg for me it was quality of food, outside space, staff and their training, overall cleanliness. But after all decision was made purely based on inner feeling (ok and price too😂) . You will not find a perfect setting.
Hey lovely, I’ve worked in early years for 16 years so feel free to drop me a message with any questions at anytime xx
Check staff to child ratio, I always worry if things are too perfect and clean - the kids should be playing with stuff. You want it to look like they're having a good time. Room transitions - what age do they move to each room and how is it managed? Eg. Cold turkey or visits first? Food hygiene and when do they introduce knife and fork etc Communication with parents - how do they let you know what baby has been up to in the day? Usually it's an app of some sort Sleeping - how do they get the kids to sleep? Do they follow your routine? Mattresses on floors or cots? Is someone always in the room whilst babies are asleep? I always ask about staff turnover too. High turnover suggests people might not want to stay there - why? Hope this helps! X
