Poop trained but not in a potty...

My son knows he when he needs to poop, and will poop and tell us...but only outside. I have been trying to bring him inside to poop, but he won't (and not for lack of trying). He won't even poop in a potty outside. Now, it is getting colder and he starting to get really upset because it's cold but he needs to poop and he doesn't know what to do. He will sit on the potty and try, with a 5 min max. But most of the time the feeling goes away, he gets a diaper for nap and bed and will do it then. I don't want this to turn into a "I only poop in a diaper". I think the issue is that he likes to do a deep squat, his butt almost touches the ground, when he goes. How do I transition that to a potty?

👋☺ Hi @Katherine maybe try putting a diaper in the small potty. Here's a helpful video series about the "poo process" to guide you thru this stage! https://youtu.be/wF7rHz_xXMU Learning the poo part takes longer for most toddlers to catch on and get comfortable with. This is what I help families with who are struggling with your exact same issue. I offer private personalized potty training consultation appointments if you'd like some one-on-one guidance and support to help you navigate thru this. Yourpottytrainingcoach.com

@💗 Miss Jen tried it...it's not a 'i want a diaper thing' he knows he shouldn't go on the floor, but he will with a diaper on because it won't go on the floor. Like I said, he will go outside, pull his pants down and everything right. He will sit on the potty and try, he just can't. I don't know if this is a release problem or a biological angle problem. (I know of the squatty potty). I have tried some blocks in front to get his knees up higher, but I can't get the deep squat angle that he's used to.
