Definitely not stupid - I had it with my first and I was absolutely gutted. There's a great website with loads of good, free recipes - search for gestational diabetes UK and it's the first one that comes up.
I have my test this week and would feel similarly. Trying to focus on what my midwife has said in that a lot of this can be complete luck of the draw and you can be an Olympic athlete and still get GD.
I had it with my first and got diagnosed with it at 13 weeks this time. It's not a stupid feeling, it just adds so much pressure. Just try to lower your carb and sugar intake and make sure to monitor your sugars. Keep in contact with your diabetic team as well as they're there to help you. Later in pregnancy it does typically get harder to keep it under control with diet alone so don't ever feel like you're failing if your sugars do start to creep up and you need medication❤️
Not stupid at all!🥺 I haven't had a test yet, got my 28 week appointment tomorrow so assuming if I need one it'll be brought up then! These things happen and GD is very common. You have every right to feel how you feel, it absolutely sucks but you've got this❤️
I’ve got it too. Metformin not reducing blood sugar either and I’m really struggling with the diet as I eat a beige diet usually!! I’m not overweight etc. I’m living off omlettes and soups it’s depressing! Don’t like veg or salad
Doesnt sound stupid at all ❤️ im yet to have my test but i would feel the same. Its just an added pressure to what our bodies are already going through. No tips or advice sorry but just wanted to send a hug ❤️
