Wegovy for weight loss

Not wegovy but on mounjaro xxx

I'm on Wegovy. I've been on it for 6 months, and I've lost 30+ lbs. The side effects I've had are occasional constipation nausea and occasionally vomiting.

I've been on it for 5 weeks and have only lost 3lbs😭 It's also INCREDIBLY hard to find in the US. My doctor prescribed the next higher dose and every pharmacy I've called says it's out of stock for another 5 weeks, so I'm staying on the lowest dose until then. My SIL is on her 5th week of Mounjaro and has lost 15lbs though, so I may try switching to that one. As for side effects, mine have been very minimal. Mild constipation and upset stomach, and minor abdominal cramping the day after my shot.

@Heather How long did it take you to start losing weight? I've been on the lowest dose for 5 weeks and am not losing weight😭

@Sam the first month was a pound or two but after that it just started falling off. But be sure to eat enough protein a day and drink plenty of water.

Definitely recommend I started end of February weighing 79kg now I'm 54kg. I feel sick sometimes but never vomited or anything actually thinking to stop next week

@Heather thanks! Did you go up to 0.5 after the first month? My doctor prescribed the next dose for me but it's out of stock until the end of November😭

My pharmacy couldn't get the .25 so I started on the 0.5. I'm now on the 2.4(max dose)

@Leanne how much have u lost and how long have u been on it? Any side effects ?

I'm on my 6th week now in 5 week s I have lost 13lb I haven't had any side effects thankfully I'm still on the lowest dose as it's still working so well for me it has honestly changed my life I wish I had started sooner the registered pharmacy I use is really fairly priced to quick to answer emails and quick dispatch x

@Helen These medications were created for diabetics, to help maintain healthy blood sugar levels. One side effect is that they make your stomach take longer to empty, resulting in eating less, which leads to weight loss. They weren't created specifically for people to lose weight, that's just how people are choosing to use them.

@sam this is infact wrong information mounjaro was been regulated for weight loss

@Leanne Correct, but that is not what it was initially created for, which is why it is so hard to get approved through insurance unless you actually have diabetes or other factors leading to diabetes.

@Sam we are in the uk we pay for it privately

@Leanne Interesting! Luckily I was able to get mine approved through insurance so I only have a small copay, otherwise it's ridiculously expensive in the U.S.!
