Boy Moms: Did you circumcise your son?

If you did, did the aesthetic play into it? If you didn’t, do you worry about infection? Yelling at your kid to clean under their foreskin? Haha

I did not. My son’s father is not circumcised either, so hygiene was never something we were worried about, cause my partner has lived his entire life with his foreskin intact with zero issue ever. I’d only ever circumcise if there’s a medical necessity for it. It just doesn’t seem necessary at all.

I circumcised my boys. I didn’t care about aesthetics I tried to learn about care for foreskin and ended up in so many rabbit holes of what could go wrong. My husband and every close male is circumcised so I decided to circumcise. Having twins and what was going on in life also played a role in my decision as I felt overwhelmed with the idea of learning in real time going 0-2 in parenthood while being postpartum and grieving my mom.

We didn’t and there’s really nothing to worry about for infection. You wipe it like usual and as they get older you teach them how to clean and wash it properly. Everyday and in the shower and all that. My husband isn’t and he’s never had a problem. He showers everyday but even if he didn’t he still washes it to make sure it doesn’t get all gross

There is literally no additional risk of infection, thats been disproven.

My father had to circumcise at 12 y/o because of an infection and was pretty traumatic for him. He was happy to know I circumcised my son cause he didn’t want that to happen to his grandson.

It's a religious thing for us, no the aesthetic did not play a role in getting it done.

If you teach your son to wash properly, there’s no issue. I’ve got 3 boys- including a teen- and never had an issue. If you’re in America, I’ve noticed it’s common for paediatricians to tell you to retract the foreskin to clean the penis, which you shouldn’t do until it retracts naturally. Early retraction and forcing it back is what causes the issues.

I circumcised my son. I did it for his health down the line

I left it up to his dad to decide. He’s not circumcised either he said we shouldn’t do it. I was fine with either way

No infection

Way to much outdated and misinformation about circumcision being repeated. Neither my son nor daughter is circumcised. I'm not worried about anything besides ignorant people who will find an issue with a personal decision to not perform an elective surgery on my children.

My kids are all intact. I have never once worried about infection. Ever.

The word “aesthetic” irks me. Kinda strange to get it done for that reason in particular and it being your son. Either way, misinformation is rampant here regarding medical aspects.. Very comedy sketch, out here yelling at our boys to wipe their junk.. lol! It’s really up to you and your partner with perhaps a dash of religious preference.

We will be circumcising our son and not for aesthetics. My husband is circumcised so I mostly left the decision up to him. My ex step brother had to get circumcised when he was older for some reason, I didn’t ask at the time. I don’t want my son having to do it when he’s older because I’ve heard it’s harder to deal with at an older age. We also don’t want to worry about infections either.

Nope and it never crossed our minds to get him circumcised. The boys/men in our family aren’t circumcised and have never had an issue

I didn’t I don’t see a reason to it’s not my choice if he wants to when he’s older that’s his choice but i don’t see the point in it and I wouldn’t take his choice away in such a thing. And no I never worry about infection as I know it’s clean and as he gets older he will understand the importance of proper cleaning (talked about by his father) not me lol

It is ONLY for cosmetic reasons if you CHOOSE to do it. If it’s medically needed for a child who’s born with tight foreskin etc that different. You are born with foreskin why would removing it make you healthier. There’s literally no science that says the fore skin needs to be removed. Very rarely does a child get infections and if they do you have not taught them properly or been keeping up with their hygiene.

Didn’t and never worry about infection. The foreskin is not retracted when they are little.

Absolutely not. Not accepted where I’m from unless for religious reasons

Wouldn’t dream of it.

We got our son circumcised. Looks weren’t a factor. His father is circumcised, so he has his opinions about it and wanted his son circumcised as well. Neither of them have ever had any issues. Don’t care what others decide.
