Feeding dilemma

Hi mamas, My baby just had his 4 months check up and he was weighing 7.3 kgs. The doctor told me that he was 75th percentile. She was concerned about how much we’re feeding him. She told us to not exceed formula over 1L in 24 hours. We tried to reduce the amount we give him but he genuinely needs more. He cries and won’t go to sleep. He cries after the feed if he’s not full yet. I know my baby feels heavier than other babies I picked up but I don’t know why it’s wrong for me to feed him on demand. Do you think he’s gonna be overweight or is he normal?

Being 75 percentile just means baby is heavier than 74 babies that were born same day. Do what you feel is right for him.

My son was was 90 something percentile and was also asked to reduce formula! At that time I also started purées for him as he was never satisfied with just milk! He is now 5 about 30kgs but very tall and muscular! Definitely not overweight but he has a good built and very strong! Hope this helps 😀

@Jenna That makes me feel better haha….thanks😊

@Monique Sure, will do. Thank you😊

@Jenna yeah, my son was either 85 or 90ish percentile at 4 months but was being told i was doing good which is why im confused when reading should reduce feedings at 75

@Monique wow! I guess it depends on a doctor’s personal preference on how chubby they like the babies haha. Can’t body shame a baby lol😋

Chunky babies are adorable. My son is also very active so him being 16 lbs at 4 months was fine for him (7.3kg so same weigh as your son)

@Monique same. We’re 92nd percentile for weight and no one said anything.
