you pour the water in first and measure the ounces then add the scoops. sometimes it goes to like 6.5 but that’s okay. i don’t know how you would measure it otherwise as formula has to be measured perfectly. its the same if you were making 4 oz. pour in 4 oz of water and add your two scoops.
From my understanding, one scoop makes two oz. So I put one scoop in a bottle and then fill water to the two oz line and stir
Water always goes in first. If you are making 6oz bottles, pour in 6 oz water and add the scoops as directed
@Victoria you put formula first? maybe it depends on the type bc mine says pour 2, 4, or 6 oz of water then add 1, 2 or 3 scoops after.
Water first. Unless you pre scoop powder into bottles and then measure water in a second bottle (to get the correct measure of water) to add to the first bottle with the scooped powder in it.
A 6 ounce bottle - 6 ounces of water and 3 whole scoops of formula. US based!
Thanks all. Just confusing, as I've been doing the 6oz of water first, and then adding the powder... which takes it up to about 8oz total liquid volume. So then is my baby on 6oz or 8oz 🤔
6oz water to 6 scoops here in the UK
Your baby is still on 6oz. Your baby would be on 8oz if you were using 8oz of water. Formula adds volume to the water. Just like if you added stones into water, the water will rise but still be the same about of water.
@Mia hmm maybe I’m just a dummy 🤷♀️ haven’t read the package in like 2 years. suppose the formula has been a little extra concentrated then whoopsie
@Victoria hahaha dont worry it happens
@Victoria that's incorrect. The tin even says, 1 scoop per 1floz
Dont worry, i had the same dilemma lol. Apparently its the 6oz of water + the powder. So all together you will get more liquid in the bottle.
@Rebecca good thing the world won’t end from me mismeasuring the formula by half an ounce

@Victoria it can actually make your child either sick or constipated miss-measuring formula. Just be careful lovely x
incog, make sure you’re measuring correctly bc when i do 6 oz of water + 3 scoops of powder the most it’s ever made is 7 oz but mixing it usually just adds about half an oz so i end up with 6.5 oz for a 6 oz feed.
You'd measure the 6oz of water then add 6 scoops for powder (one for each oz) although I'm uk so don't know if it's different where you are x
@Mia @Samantha yes I'm in the UK, so it's 6 scoops to 6oz 😊 Health visitors always ask what she's drinking per feed and I'm never sure how much it actually is once the powder is in, hence the confusion!
Definitely 6oz lovely x
I’m confused, I can make an example of what I think you mean a 2 oz bottle would be 1 scoop of formula, 4oz 2 scoops 6oz 3 scoops 8oz 4 scoops
