Following. I'm 31 weeks and haven't heard from a health visitor
2nd time mum I just received the red book and a letter saying they’ll see me after the baby’s born (10-14 days after baby is born) but if I want to see them to contact. I think we might be under the same health visiting team, so it might be the same for you?
We got a letter the other day saying due to a shortage of staff we wouldn't see anyone until the baby was over 10 days old and to contact our Midwife if needed before that. I wasn't sure what the norm was to compare this too.
I got a letter saying due to a shortage I wouldn’t get a visit until 10-14 days after birth, won’t get red book until after baby is born either
I had a telephone appt with mine the other day who asked all the initial questions and then she said someone would visit about 14 days after she’s born x
With my first I didn’t get my red book until after he was born and then didn’t see a health visitor until 10-14 days after. Received an email saying I wouldn’t see them again this time round until 10-14 days after birth x
They don’t come out for 2nd babies until after they are born x
I had antenatal visits with my first three but this time they've sent me a red book and a letter attached saying as I've already got children ,they won't be doing a visit this time until 10 to 14 days after baby is here.
I have an at home appointment with a health visitor in a couple of weeks and I will still be pregnant - as this is my first baby, what happens in this meeting as it’s not clear? Why do they need to come to your home?
Had my health visitor out at 31 weeks for a home visit this is baby 4 but no red book
Last baby didn't hear off them till after birth. They came at 20d. (Baby was in hospital for 10d before discharge) And the hospital gave me his redbook...
@Georgina up check the letter I received as yes I’m in Portsmouth, Hampshire. Do may be the same. Plus it’s 2nd baby this time. I have no concerns but I remember first time they cover how you feel with the birth, mental health issues and if you feel prepared. This time around I don’t feel very organised and I want to combi feed.
@Amy they come to your home just to make sure the environment is safe but don’t worry it’s not like have you got plug socket covers (it’s more the more dangerous stuff). And then they just check how you feel emotionally and physically and if you are prepared. It’s more a check in. They talk about safe sleeping, feeding etc.
@Amy basically they come and introduce themselves , check baby has a slwwp spave amd talk to you about safe sleep, discuss feeding methods, any support they can offer and tell you never to shake the baby x
This is my 2nd baby and I’ve got my health visitor appointment next week. I’ll be 33 + 3 😊
