@Trista I mean I’m not complaining because he sleeps so well at night!! My first was up like every 30 min to eat so this is a huge difference.
That sounds about right, from a month breastfed babies are having about 120-150ml (5oz) per feed according to the guidelines I was taught in my breastfeeding course. I think 2-3oz is for 5 day olds not 5 week olds? And bigger babies eat a bit more. It’s based on weight I believe.
My supply isn’t keeping up! He eats almost 5oz for dinner and sleeps through the night, 5 weeks today… working hard to bring up my supply!
@Alyssa yes! i nurse during the day then he gets a 6oz bottle before bed and he sleeps the night, so thankful
Yes doctor told me I need to cap it at 4 because it’s literally causing him to be congested 😭 I’ve realized though that when he cries so hard it’s because he’s sleepy
My baby is eating 6oz bottles of breastmilk and then will have another an hour sometimes 30 mins later, the latest 2 hrs later and then will want to nurse at the breast a bit. He's been doing this since 2 weeks old. He cries for more after only 4 ounces so I can't just not feed him! Then will have what seems like a super long nap sometime in the lateish afternoon. He was born 9lbs 11oz, lost a lil bit and is now 10lbs 4oz at 4 weeks and 1 day old. I was expecting him to eat quite a bit being born so chunky but I wasn't expecting this much! 😆
Me! Mine is only two weeks but wanting to eat 3-4. Our pediatrician said 4 is ok around the one month mark. He was born 1 week and 3 days after his due date and was a bigger baby so I keep telling myself that he should be ahead of schedule 😬
Mine is 5.3 weeks and eats only 2.5 oz not more. I was worried whether he is eating less. He is currently 9 lb 12 oz.
Mine was the exact same at 5.5 weeks
It’s perfectly normal , besides weight gain thier bodies need a lot of energy just to keep metabolising . What you have to ask your self is are there medical /clinical concerns related to your baby being over fed if you feel he’s being over fed ?
@Keerthivasini same here my boy doesn’t eat pass 2.5 and I’m starting 3oz because he isn’t even waiting a full two hours to eat
Funny thing is that my mil that knows nothing about breastfeeding loves to give advice about it, even though this is my second time doing it 😂 she’s all, “you should put 8oz in his bottle” 🥴
@Alyssa Jesús… 8oz… lol thank God you don’t succumb to peer pressure...
i thought i was the only one! dr. seemed to think it was fine since he takes longer naps like 4ish hours
