My babies were prem and vulnerable and I never did this ahah they are thriving! If you followed every single rule you just wouldn't be able to survive ahha xx
i heard about this, but i think it’s the water that’s been boiled multiple times. I do formula as well, i only get fresh if there is only tiny left in the kettle. Also, maybe you could boil only enough for your container if any. Like, i boil water enough for my flask and the flask is enough through the day
When I heard this from my health visitor I gave up and brought a prep machine 😅 so much easier and less hassle (even though the nhs also say don’t use a prep machine). They just have to cover their backs from all eventualities just in case
@Tessa I had a midwife tell me that she used a prep machine for her third so yeah 🤣
I think its to do with any floating limescale in the kettle. I use the left over water (once cooled) on my plants
Thank you all for replying. The fear they put into us (I’m a first time mum). I literally have poured kettles away and it’s really getting to me! I scream at my partner for not turning the tap off when he does his teeth 🤣 Xx
It’s because when water is boiled evaporation happens and when it has been boiled more than once it leaves more sodium behind. I don’t worry too much about it. Sometimes I forget, I don’t think it would do much harm x
I've never heard of this 😳 My first baby was a fully formula fed baby from 3 weeks until 16 months and I never did this, I always boiled the kettle and put the water in a thermos, or I re-boiled the same water... I'm doing the same with my second (5 weeks old)... I'm in Australia 🇦🇺
