Congratulations! Every area does things a bit differently, but you firstly need to advise your GP or self-refer to your local maternity service that you are pregnant. You will then have your first midwife appointment usually around 8-10 weeks. Your first scan is around 12 weeks which is usually booked on your behalf. If you want to have an earlier scan then you’ll need to pay for a private one.
Hi, I’m new to this too and will be 5 weeks on Thursday! I just self referred to the hospital (just googled ‘maternity services’ and the name of the hospital), I sent in an online form yesterday and by the evening they had already booked me in for my first appointment at 9 weeks and scan at 12. I managed to speak to someone at my GP today and they confirmed there’s nothing else I need to do, so I guess now we just patiently wait!
Hi, i got in touch with the local midwife you can either ring up or self refer online. They took a few details then made me an appointment for between 8-10 weeks from first day of last period. that’s how the determine how far you are. I have a booking appointment for 9 weeks exactly then believe i’ll get a scan on NHS around 12 weeks but i have booked a private scan at a local clinic which is £75 but be so worth it as i’m impatient and can’t wait until 12 weeks!
Congratulations 💜 I’m 5 weeks aswell and I have registered with my local hospital and they have booked me in for an assessment and scan when i’ll be 9 weeks pregnant. They will get in contact to discuss with you. I am abit different as I have undergone fertility treatment and I have a scan with ny fertility clinic on the 4th November so i’ll be 7 weeks.
