someone help 🥲

i am an under supplier so we’ve taken a lot of donated milk but we’re at the point we need to sub with formula. we’ve spent hundreds of dollars on formula and everyone he throws up the ENTIRE bottle. normally an hour after his feed. has anyone else experienced this? he NEVER even spits up breast milk. i have no clue what to do.

Have you tried mixing formula into breastmilk? Make a half formula bottle and mixing breastmilk on top. You have to train their tummies to take it if they only ever had breastmilk.

yes we have. same thing still happens 🥲

Have you tried goat milk formula? It’s supposed to be a lot gentler on their tummies. Do you think he could have an intolerance to cow milk protein maybe?

@MJ_xo I second this. I also use goat milk formula as a combo feeder. I use bubs, it’s an Australian brand and it’s cleaner than the ones in America

@Lola I just started combi feeding and was between bubs and kabrita. They seem to be on par!

@MJ_xo Kabrita looks more aesthetically pleasing but I found out about it way after bubs, my first choice was Kendamil, but seeing how often it went out of stock I said no way.

Have you heard of the company holle formula it’s from Switzerland but have heard great things

@MJ_xo we tried kendamil goat and no luck. at first i thought it was a cow milk intolerance

Have you talked to your pediatrician? I believe there are prescription formulas available as well for highly sensitive babies

I’m so sorry you are going through this

Our baby won't spit it up fully BUT still tolerates much better breastmilk. Unfortunately like you i don't have a supply so we do lots of donated breastmilk. She has changed many many times formula and the one who she tolerated was the AR formula for reflux. What your baby has sounds like a dairy tolerance or reflux. Have you tried cereal or AR formula?

@Laura yes we have! we tried one formula they gave us & we’re following up this week.

@Manuela we did try oat cereal and he held it in his stomach much longer and i was able to keep up my supply with him because he cut out a night bottle. although after a week he started getting a rash on his cheeks & ped said it was an intolerance to the cereal 🥲 we haven’t tried AR formula, we will try that next!
