When did y’all get your babies birth cert?
I filled out the paperwork at the hospital for the birth certificate but haven’t received it yet and I’m freaking out cause I need it asap for my health insurance. When did y’all get your babies birth cert? Do i have to fill anything else out or go somewhere?

I gave birth in Missouri. After waiting forever for my son’s, I finally called. I discovered they no longer send them automatically in Missouri. You have to go into the health department and pay $15. It’s stupid.
Yes you have to go buy it from the health department. You can go and get it without an appointment so you could get it as soon as today.
If born in St Louis County the office is in Berkeley. If in St Charles County I think it's in St. Charles City. They told me it'd be ready a few weeks after birth. The Berkeley location I didn't need an appointment.

I gave birth in CA. I filled out the paperwork at the hospital, then had to wait several weeks to make sure it got filed before going to the county clerk’s office to pick up the birth certificate. I was freaking out with the health insurance too since baby was only covered under mine for routine things for the first 30 days, but turns out HR backdated the insurance change so baby was covered for everything.
