Feeding

My 2 month old is drinking 120ml every 2 hours without fail. She can’t stomach 150ml.. how do I get her to feed in longer intervals especially at night time ! Mumma is getting no sleep 😴

My 2 month old also has 120ml every 2hrs! Overnight we have the room pitch black and white noise, and she goes 4hrs sometimes a little more!

@Diana I’ve tried this 😩 I’m loosing my mind I can’t function

It should get better! I found it was from two months onwards that he naturally started doing longer stretches at night. Some with the time between feeds. Once day he just started to take the bottle every three hours in the day. There was a weird period of guess work when making bottles as he adjusted and panic making an extra 30ml when he was still hungry 🙈

What number teat is she on? Mine likes number 2 and can sometimes take more. Maybe try a number 2 teat?

I know it’s not very helpful but babies will only eat and drink as much as they need to. You can’t force them to eat more, nor should you want to. Imagine how you personally feel when your belly is too full. It does get better though. She will keep changing her feeding habits and eventually filling up for longer. I highly recommend reading the below, it focuses on breastfeeding but applies to all babies: https://www.unicef.org.uk/babyfriendly/breastfeeding-the-dangerous-obsession-with-the-infant-feeding-interval/

@Aggs I’ve not been forcing my child to eat more. I’m trying to see if anyone has any advice for longer sleeps ect. I am a mum of 2. A two year old and a 8 week old now. I am just finding if hard to function on next to no sleep to the point I can’t drive my son nursery as it wouldn’t be a safe choice. So if you have any advice that will help with getting longer sleeps. Or gaps between feeds.

@Diana i actually cut out white noise last night as she slept from 12-5.30 … so maybe the white noise wasn’t it.

@Diana thanks babe .. my baby girls still on first size teats as she drinks tooo fast 🙃 I did try move her up but it was not a nice feed. I’m thinking to try breast feeding again as this was my plan but I’ve been so tired I’ve not been eating or producing milk.

My little one is almost 10 weeks and started sleeping a bit better so a 5 hour stretch at about 9 weeks she also feeds less amounts more often. We found white noise kept her awake but she likes the sound of rain. So I definitely think it's baby dependant. But it's so hard when you have more than one and one doesn't sleep well xx
