Love y’all on here and all but it seems like most people are so disconnected from their humanity

That coming on here is extremely depressing and almost always disappointing

Between all the Hitler wasn’t that bad posts, the I actually prefer this politician who wants to/is murdering people in the masses, pro eugenics comments, racism and overall hatred for everyone who isn’t exactly like you want them to be….it’s just like real icky. And it’s like a normal thing to way more people than I’m comfortable with. I never know if I’m going to end up chatting with someone who thinks it’s ok for a man to murder a child as long as he puts on a uniform first. I feel like I cannot relate AT ALL.

The amount of people who said bye is is very saddening. I'm here to talk if you ever want to @Zainab🗝️

People say stupid stuff on the internet bc there’s no filter, just feelings. Have you ever taken the time to have discussions in real life or DMs? I’ve discovered most people have interesting and more nuanced points of view than “thinking it’s ok to murder a child.” You can give people the benefit of the doubt without compromising on your beliefs and policies. MOST people have genuinely good intentions. Also bots are a real thing, several world leaders have admitted to using them to sow discord in the US and Europe. I hope that’s encouraging as far as faith in humanity goes 😆

@Rosalie I use to think that most people had good intentions but I do not think that anymore. I am also not willing to give the benefit of the doubt or say it’s nuanced for people anymore. I have never been given that same courtesy. I have to protect myself from y’all.

It's exhausting. I'm hoping (but not optimistic) that things will settle down in a few weeks. Maybe once the National Day of Mourning (aka American Thanksgiving) rolls around, we can get back to regular posts about MIL drama, bitchfests about bfs/hubby/bds not doing their part, and lamenting the dark times to come (aka winter)

I'm sure things will calm down a bit after the American election is over which is right around the corner. Don't let the bad vibes get you down. I completely agree that all those types of posts are ridiculous these days and the fact everyone jumps down each others throats for having different opinions instead of having a healthy debate drives me crazy. Don't let the drama turn off your bright light girl. I have a feeling once the feuds between presidents ends all will be back to the regular drama this app used to be. And maybe one day it'll get back to its intended purpose and woman will just start supporting woman again on here. A girl can dream. 😂

I think I saw three separate people on here last night saying positive things about Hitler. I’m flabbergasted. It doesn’t matter, AT ALL, if he fucking did anything positive, ever. Someone who did what he did should never have an ounce of praise. About anything. That’s it, period. And the racist comments too. People have zero shame. I feel you ❤️

@Sammer American election time always reminds me that people think that 1) most people are American and are able to vote 2) all the most important problems in the world are the problems of Americans. How is it that I know someone who is not American and a communist but gets hate mail for not saying they are going to vote for Harris. The delusion gives me a tummy ache.

@Brittany the amount of times I’ve seen people either praise hitler or blame him absolutely everything, past and current ( like people don’t have free will and choose comfort instead),on an app for mother is unreal.

I was literally telling husband yesterday that I should delete peanut for awhile. With 2 under 2 I don't have much time to load it up anyways but seems like every time I do at least one of the top 3 posts is something super toxic or offensive. It's just depressing at this point 😫

Yeahhh I think if you focus on one negative part of the internet, then it’ll bring you down. Take a breather and find the good :)

i was literally saying this the other day like... i could've stayed on twitter if i wanted to see this much discourse from insanely hateful people!!!

I have been avoiding Peanut for this very reason.

I haven’t seen any of those posts. Which group were they posted in ? 🤯 I also often am shocked at things said here on an app for MUMS, but it’s mostly things like being horrible to each other for having different opinions, but I haven’t seen things you’ve described here.

lol I said byeeee because I'm just about done with this app. Some of the crap I read is so wildly inexcusable and it just no longer feels like a safe community unfortunately

Before I joined peanut I was very wary abt the internet. I don’t use social media apps. cuz I don’t think ppl treat each other very well online. It’s like ppl are so “connected”bt yet ppl are still disconnected I prefer 2 make real life connections in actual reality. Bt being a mom has made it impossible to find/make new connections so I gave this app a try because my phone kept suggesting it! I thot it wud be a “positive” place for mamas lol I was so wrong. Everyday I log on here & there is so much discourse! I just try to ignore it bt sometimes the trolls just give off too many bad vibes. It just becomes too much for me. I try to show up on this app/or any Internet forum, as I wud in real life. Bt some ppl think the internet is a place were u can jus say watever u want! Bt I agree with ur post! I’m only using this one app to connect bt I wonder were my mental wud be if I used twitter or any of the other apps. Cuz I’ve seen ppl say the craziest things online! Really depressing!

The hitler thing is kinda funny to me, because I remember the times where I used to say some off-the-wall positive thing about Hitler just to de-escalate an argument and get everyone on the same page again (starting by looking at me like I’m insane). Now, however, that tactic wouldn’t work anymore as people are actually thinking either the holocaust didn’t happen or that hitler had some good ideas. Might cause a secondary argument instead 😭

I agree
