Inconsolable crying when bathing

Our first born didn't particularly like bathing either but my 8 week old goes absolutely mad when bathing. Crying so badly, super tense, even though we try to make it as calm as possible, warm environment etc. I'm at my wit's end, she needs a bath at least once a week but feels like at this rate she will never get used to it..

Do you wet a muslin cloth and put it over them in the bath? Instantly calms mine

My little one is 10 weeks and we've only just had our first enjoyable bath tonight. She was in a super playful mood at the time, so we left the TV on as she loves baby sensory videos (we still bath her in the living room as our bathroom can be too cold) and used a small baby cloth to clean her with.

@Allie yes I do and put water on the cloth so it doesn't get cold

@Sasha that's reassuring x

We use a baby bath in his nursery with a mesh seat in and he loves that. Could that work if you try that for a few weeks? and then maybe transition the baby bath to the actual bath tub slowly and add some bath toys. Xx

Our baby was the same and we started to get into the bath with him and he loves bath time now. Might be worth just giving it a go to get in with your baby until she gets used to it!

My LO hated baths for ages, even with a muslin over her. One day I tried wrapping her in a warm towel and putting her in the baby bath in the towel and she loved it! I just lift up bits of the towel to wash her. Keeps her nice and warm and I think maybe helps her feel more secure. Now she loves a bath x
