Feeding amounts and frequency
My baby girl is 11 days old and seems to be getting hungrier by the hour!
She was on a feeding tube for the first week as she wouldnt keep food down. But now we're home she seems to be wanting to feed every 2-3 hours and is taking approximately 80-90ml mixture of expressed and formula. With the expressed being about 20ml each time.
I'm just wondering if this is normal. I don't want to end up over feeding her.
You should still be under care of your midwifery team - are you under Royal Surrey? They have a good feeding specialist team that can give you advice. I'm exclusively breastfeeding so can't really share a similar experience, but they do go through growth spurts and generally weight gain is rapid the first few weeks - so the hunger will match that. The first few weeks I basically did nothing else but feed my little one!
