Reaction to dairy or hands foot and mouth?

My 11 month olds childminder has told me that my daughter has hands foot and mouth this morning. My daughter has a dairy allergy, when she was born she was diagnosed with cmpa after a couple of weeks when she broke out in hives, had mucusy poos and a bad belly. We were moved onto hypoallergenic formula and never looked back. We’ve not had any diary slip ups since changing her formula, but on Saturday whilst at a birthday party she picked up a wotsit from the floor and ate it before I could take it off her (I was solo trying to manage a 2 year old who kept trying to destroy the birthday boys cake and her who didn’t want to sit still) so we don’t know how she will react now. Does the picture look like hands foot and mouth to you? She has no other symptoms what so ever and is a very happy baby.

Yes looks like the beginning

@Rose I’m really not sure, but I know she’s had dairy when she’s got an allergy and so idk if that could potentially be part of it. I’m taking her to a pharmacist this evening

@Reagan thanks, my 2 year old has never had it so this is the first time I’d be experiencing it and have no idea

@Rebecca it’s not actually as bad as it’s made out to be. It is wildly contagious but as my daughter’s pediatrician put it it’s really a cold with polka dots. I kept my daughter in a footed onesie and socks on her hands to keep her from scratching but she wasn’t really itchy

@Reagan the reason why we are so unsure is when she was in dairy formula before this is exactly what her hives looked like when she was reacting to the dairy, but she’s not had dairy since then so wouldn’t know if she would react the same. The NHS website says she could have a temp, sore throat and not want to eat before these spots appeared and she had none of that. She literally had dairy on Saturday on accident which is why I felt more like it was a reaction to that. We will of course see what the pharmacist says and see what happens

@Rebecca it’s possible my daughter presented with no other symptoms other than the rash. Did her allergy show mostly on the hands feet and mouth also?

@Reagan she only had the rash on her arms and hand. We spoke to the pharmacist and they couldn’t tell if it were a reaction to dairy or hfm. We have since got confirmation from my son who has most definitely got hfm 🙃😭 I’m in for a fun couple days I think

@Rebecca oh no poor babies if you can give them warm liquids and warm baths it will most definitely help. Hoping they recover quickly

@Reagan literally the worst timing!! My baby girl is a year old on Monday and she’s never met my grandparents (who are getting very old 🥺) we were meant to go visit them tomorrow 🙃 we’ve had to reschedule until next month and knowing our luck they’ll pick something else up

@Rebecca oh no! I’m so sorry. Wishing them both a speedy recovery
