Weaning on to cows milk

I used to do 3oz formula with boiling water and 4oz cows milk and it was always perfect temp. So depends how you make your feeds? But now we’re on just cows milk we use the microwave to warm up milk

@Lucy thank you! I usually just make his 8oz bottle with boiling water and just let it cool by itself while he has his bath

I haven't been warming the cows milk. It's just LOs preference. We're now on 4 oz formula 4 cows mix

I’ve just done 7oz formula 1oz cows milk and he drank it fine 🙌🏾 I didn’t warm the cows milk either

My bubba turns 1 in 2 weeks she has 7 oz bottle & i've started to give her 1oz of cows milk in with her bottle to slowly wean her onto milk..warm the milk in micro first and added it in She tried it in her sippy cup and loved it. No problems with the change over so far

@Hayley is there a reason you use a sippy cup to give her milk not instead of a bottle? I see loads of posts on here about people asking what are the best sippy cups to transition to when changing to cows milk but I’ve never know why they’re changing and the benefits.

Hi all, is it advisable to mix up the formula with cows milk? I’ve just given her cows milk after turning 1. She gets multivitamins as she won’t drink 500 ml a day

@Teia I don’t think you HAVE to mix it. It’s totally up to you and baby tbh. I’ve done it like this just to see how he is as I didn’t want it to be a massive change for him especially when he only has formula when it’s bedtime - he’s breastfed throughout the day aswell as his meals

Ah ok it makes sense. I stopped breastfeeding when she was 10 months and she goes to nursery for 3 full long days with many meals during the day. She gets 1 milk bottle there and approximately 4 bottles a day of milk but only 4 Oz I do appreciate mums who still breastfeed after 1, it must be hard
