Nursery food

Does anyone know why nurseries give dinner around 3.30pm? It seems a little early. And also why they give “dinner” for lunch and “lunch” for dinner? Not sure if it’s all nurseries but I’m just curious. My son will have a full meal for lunch at nursery around 11 and then has sandwiches at 3.30.

Cause 3.30 is like a light tea that why it like sandwiches etc! So they had something to eat whilst they wait to go home for their tea! Xx

Mine does hot food for both lunch and dinner. Think it may vary by each nursery x

@Sarah ohhh right, that makes sense now😅x

There dinner is more of a snack. I always offer her food at dinner time with the family after nursery. Some days she will eat more than others but I don’t put stress on it as I can see what she has eaten through the day.

@Emma yeah our nursery we have summer and winter menu’s so they do get offer warm meals at 3.30 like soup and bread etc! Glad it makes senses now they should of explained that to you on your settlings in xx
