Yeah 8-10 weeks is normal for your booking In appointment & then around 12 weeks for the first scan. Seems like ages to wait but it makes sense if you think of how many losses are before 12 weeks. I had a private scan at 10 weeks with my daughter because I couldn’t wait anymore to make sure all was ok 🤦🏼♀️
Did you have a COVID baby first time?
@Chloe Loxton it’s just too weird how they don’t give any support at the beginning, especially if it’s your first and you have no idea what to do or eat. What’s fine and what’s not 😮💨 no wonder a lot of people say they had a bad pregnancy experience just because there was no support. Not everyone has their mums or family close to them for guidance 🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️
@Leigh-Anne 10 weeks of not seeing anyone is a lot, not even a little blood test to confirm you are okay 😩 it’s during the first trimester that they should more vigilant to help avoid any losses not let you fend for yourself 🤷🏻♀️ i might go private for a scan too 🤔
@Anais it was around 2022
As much as it’s a long wait & it drives you mad I get why. If you’re going to lose the baby in that time there’s nothing they can do either. I think 2 scans is mad ! I had extra in the end but only 2? 🤦🏼♀️
You see your midwife at 8-10 weeks then have your scan appointments at 12 and 20 weeks. I had my 8 week appointment last week which was all about me and my partner; asked about our family history etc. Nothing about the baby. I was flabbergasted at the lack of support or urgency during the first trimester that I ended up booking an early scan over the weekend for reassurance!
