My son had an Inginual hernia too. He had his repaired back in January, he was around 5/6 months old at the time. They did his keyhole. He was a superstar and wouldn’t have known he had anything done afterwards other than the tiny incisions. He’s 15 months now and we haven’t had any problems since
My son has surgery to remove his hernia on Friday. I’m super nervous! What was the aftercare like? Xxx
My baby was 11 weeks early a NICU baby💜……I saw it but his pediatrician didn’t believe anything was there. I asked for an appt referral for general surgery anyways. He got it repaired October 8 at 4 months. He did great and didn’t cry afterwards at all. They offered a baby epidural while he was already numb before surgery which I definitely opted for because of the no pain for 6 hours they mentioned. He had reflux before his repair and it magically went away after his repair. Now he’s gaining weight normally and doing much better….incision is so small and in the crease of his leg we can barely see it unless we actually looking for it and it’s only been 3 weeks. *Bonus point cause the hospital actually allowed up to 2 adults to stay overnight. Don’t be scared momma your little warrior is gonna do great🤞🏾🙏🏾
My brother had this and it was terrifying at the time. He’s now in his 20s and never had any further issues. Good luck 🥰
My son also had surgery when he was 4/5 months old. Originally, it was a undescended testicle that later on became a hernia when his testicle descended. The surgery itself lasted an hour and you get there about three hours beforehand. They did a noninvasive procedure and the only issue I had was with the anesthesiologist. If they tell you that you aren’t allowed to go into the room when they are put to sleep know that you are and that’s a right as a parent especially if your child is distressed
Us too! My LO was 8 weeks early and is now 13 weeks. I noticed the same thing around 8 weeks old and he’s having surgery next week on the 5th to get it fixed. I’ve noticed some diaper changes it’s very large and hard and others it almost looks like it’s not there anymore. I definitely hear and feel the gurgle sound, it’s just the intestine doing its thing as scary and nasty as that sounds! I can update you on how it goes next week. I thought it would be an out patient surgery but we’re going to stay the night in the hospital together. It’s going to be hard because he’s a twin so brother will need to stay home, it’ll be my first 24 hours without one of them since being home from the NICU
