Bottles

I am EBF but for the past 2 weeks we’ve introduced a bottle with milk I’ve expressed. I’ve noticed when my girl is given a bottle she seems to get a bit of silent reflux. Currently using the MAM bottle with the anti colic design. Has anyone got any suggestions on bottles they’ve found are better? I would like to continue to give her a bottle of expressed milk to give me a break or if I go out etc. I just don’t like the thought of the bottle giving her a bit of reflux.

Dr browns anti colic bottles have been wonderful for my daughter tho!!

Are you pacefeeding? She could be drinking too quickly from the bottle as it's easier. Also, how much are you giving her? What teat size are you using? And how old is she?

@Jenny we put 4oz in a bottle she is 6 weeks old. She usually takes the 4oz other than a bit left in the teat. She’s on MAM bottles not sure what size? The bottle can only take 5oz max and the teat was the one that came with the bottle. I don’t feed her with a bottle it’s usually my partner but he always tips the bottle up to prevent any air. How do you pace feed??

@Tessy thank you will look into those bottles

Ah ok you'll have the smallest teat size then, size 0, stick with this if you're also breastfeeding so she doesn't get used to a faster flow. To pace feed, sit baby up, bottle horizontal so the teat isn't full, it simulates the way baby would nurse. Have you been advised how much milk to put in the bottle? Or do you do 4oz because she'll drink it?
