PGP Physio

Had my midwives appointment yesterday and she said she'd refer me to physio for my broken hips - what happens next? Letter in the post? How long does that take? In some serious pain so I'm Abit anxious to get it sorted sooner rather than later!

My midwife advised me it could take 5 weeks to even get a letter to book an appointment but I'd had a letter and the appointment within 10 days! I got it through on the nhs app, so it was much quicker than waiting for the post, I think it depends where you are based though for times. Fingers crossed, it's not too much of a wait for you x

I self referred in the summer and got an email to book onto a group session within a couple of weeks

It depends where you live unfortunately, i got my appointment in a couple weeks. In the meantime sleeping with a pillow between your knees can help, as can bump support belts to help keep the weight off the pelvis. Mine has just dramatically improved after baby moved up more, fingers crossed this happens to you too 🤞🏻🤞🏻 (this happened with my first pregnancy too, but it came back with a vengeance in the later weeks)

@Cesca now this is interesting!!!! At the appointment yesterday they said he was laying across my hips (they had a fancy name for it like Traverse something) and he's always been very low so I wonder if maybe he just needs to flip over fully then I'll be more comfy 🤔

*** update if anyone ever finds my post and wonders the same thing. I'm in the Oxfordshire area and just got a call now for an appointment next Tuesday

I self referred and got a phone call 5 days later and was seen a week after that phone call! They have to prioritise you due to your pregnancy is what my midwife told me x
