Ehcp wait time

What can you do if your ehcp wait time has exceeded the 20 week wait? It’s now week 24, i have had to delay sending my son to school (he turned 4 in July) as there’s no way i could send him to mainstream without an ehcp, but still after 24 weeks we don’t even have a draft. What can i do?

As far as I know if you’re in the UK you can contact sendiass or keep chasing them up for an update until they give it. My sons is 4 months late so having the same problem and he’s due to start school next year as well

@Sophie-May my son was due to start in september of this year 😕 is there nothing i can do to report this? I don’t see the point of them having legal deadlines to follow if there’s nothing you can do when they exceed it besides chase

I know most councils have a massive delay on them because of the amount of people trying to get one for their kids. If you have a log in account to keep track of the progress there should be contact details on there of who to contact I’m assuming and how to take it further. Not an expert just saying what I’ve seen and been told

Contact SENDIASS and chase your local authority and see what the hold up is - is it evidence from other professionals, have they agreed to issue? Most local authorities are having massively delays it isn’t right but sadly they don’t have capacity and staff :(

If you know roughly what step you’re on it will help you know who to contact Have they agreed a needs assessment? Who is completing these/has completed these? If they’ve all been completed did they advise what day it would return to panel to decide if an EHCP would be issued? If that’s all been done and they’ve agreed an EHCP is needed when did they agree that?
