Colic

Looking for positive stories from anyone who has a really colicky baby. Our daughter cries everytime she is awake for the whole wake window and it’s constant jiggling her around and trying to distract her until it’s time to sleep again. I can’t put her down at all, screams in the car, screams in the pram. I’m currently dairy and soy free (day 3), have gaviscon to trial in a few days, having second tongue tie revision next week, have being seeing an osteopath every week since birth. I’m at rock bottom with it and could do with some positive stories of what worked and when it got better.

My first was a colic baby and we changed his bottles from mam to Dr Brown, played white noise (he still sleeps with it now at 3) gave him gripe water with every feed and had dancing fruit on tv. When he hit 3 months it subsided massively and by 4 months it was completely gone. Hang in there it will and does get better! X

Is she breastfed? Xx

My first was exactly like this, he basically screamed for the first 6 months of his life. It was awful. We had a really good month or so when we started introducing solids, I think it really helped with whatever digestive issues were happening that we were unable to solve before that. I won’t lie he’s continued to be a tough baby and toddler compared to most but he can also be way sweeter than any other baby or toddler I’ve met. You’ll have ups and downs but it WILL get better with time

@Lucy 90% breastfed with formula top ups

My first was like this, I used to wear her in the sling and pace the house! It stopped by the time she was 4 months. It’s really tough but it will get better x

I got given these BioGaia drops at a baby show. I checked amazon and they had amazing reviews. My babies tummy has seemed much better since using them

My baby is also colicky. 90% breastfed with formula tops ups. I’ve tried everything, swaddling, infacol, colieaf, gripe water (after 1month), paced feeding, anti colic bottles, bouncing etc Not much works. I asked my GP about it and he said most remedies don’t really work and time is the main factor in colic going away. My honest best way to deal with it at the moment is keeping him as up right as possible and pace feeding, burp him a lot, once done feeding, my husband bounces him but can only do for so long, then swaddle, hold close to body, with dummy until he falls asleep.

I second Dr Brown bottles. We also have bought Kendamil drops to give my daughter. Theyve been a dream In helping her pass wind easier. That paired with infacol drops in her milk. 🤞🏻 crossed for you, it does get easier!

Dr Browns bottles, infacol since first week of life and Colic Calm (herbal blend) they all helped to some extent. He is 8 weeks now and definitely time helps developing their digestive system and gut. 😇
