Has anyone experienced this with their child?

Hey, fellow mummas, Has anyone's child gotten a respiratory virus and then developed diarrhea/ runny poops afterwards? My little guy (11 months) has just had a respiratory virus that he got from his sister and when he was starting to get over that he has developed diarrhea, it was pretty bad the first few days and has started to slow down a bit now but I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? If so, how long did it last for your little one? And was there anything that helped them get over it faster? I have taken him to the doctor, and they have done a stool sample, I hopefully get the results tomorrow, I was just curious if anyone else has been through this.

Hello! I could of written this myself. Bub is 17m and has croup. I think its the medication and lack of food they refuse. Cause thank God shes doing much better and her poop has returned to normal

I was told viruses can have many symptoms from cold like symptoms to diarrhoea and vomiting. So it could have been the virus itself doing that? Or a new one, since your baby probably had a low immune system by the end of the respiratory virus. When our daughter has diarrhoea it lasts a few days, if it's over a week I'd be worried. And I just make sure she gets LOTS of electrolyte and/or apple juice to replenish everything. I use a syringe as she often don't want to eat or drink much.

@Marie, my little guy, had croup/chest infection a few months ago and had diarrhea due to the antibiotics and steroids that they had him on.

@Amandine I have read about that. His doctor didn't seem fazed about it and just wanted to do a sample just in case he had picked a bug up. He has had it for just over a week now. it's not as constant as it was in the beginning, though. I just want him to get better and go back to normal, I'm also over all the extra washing from the blow-outs he is having, lol.
