Meat and dairy

How are you introducing dairy and meat into babies diet? Up until now we've just been doing fruit and vegetable purees so I'm a bit nervous about moving on from this 😬

For dairy so far we've had yoghurt both plain and with mashed fruit and grated cheese stirred into a veg puree first time and since just on his tray for him to help himself too. Meat I've only done in mashed meals so far not as finger food but it's worked well I've just blended stews or curries etc we have had for dinner before adding salt. I want to try whole meat like a chicken drumstick to chew on but an a bit nervous yet will give it a few more weeks until he gets better with soft finger foods

We’ve given our girl a breaded chicken strip - it was scary being worried about choking but we watched very carefully and she absolutely loved it!

@Flo thank you! Those are good ideas. Yeah I think it's the idea of giving them proper meat which is quite scary as its obviously more of a hazard than purees 😬 but I guess as long as they're getting bits of meat blended there is no rush

@Charlotte oh wow! How old was she when you tried this?

I've been giving my lo dairy since day one of weaning. Meat since week two he's had chicken and beef and eggs . If I'm giving him chicken or beef he has it the day after we have it that way we would get food poisoning first. He's only had it blitzed up not in chunks .
