If you don’t have it they won’t ring you to let you know as they say “no news is good news” if you do have it the latest you should hear back is the next day x
Does everyone get this test? Im 22 weeks and wondering if / when i’ll have it as no one has mentioned it x
@Laura No not everyone, if you have symptoms or they pick any traces up in your other tests… or if anyone in your family has diabetes then you have to have the test for example my dad has diabetes so every pregnancy I have I’ll have to be tested x
Mine were available within 24 hours on my NHS/Doctor system so I could see I had failed miserably before anyone was in touch. Nobody rang from a midwife or GP point of view (was surprised at that) I just had a letter on the post 48 hours later inviting me to a session with the diabetic team at the hospital.
I got my results online, and then my midwife confirmed my test results when I went for my appointment. I was negative. I was also told no news is good news.
@Georgina Pearson do you think if grandmother has diabetes I’ll have to have test? I’m concerned as heard our local hospital only stocks Orange which makes me sick so hoping I can get away without it
@Kerri i was told only parents, as my great nan has it but that was irrelevant why i had to have it in my situation
@Megan thank you
@Kerri I’m going to have to have it and only my grandad (mom’s dad) has it.
Was just a few hours when it was positive they called and when it was negative they just updated badger up within a few hours xx
